  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 15 oz can chili beans in chili sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups salsa of choice
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 4 oz can chopped green chilies
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar
  • 4 oz cream cheese cubed and softened

Instructions

  • In a large skillet brown the meat with the onion until no longer pink. Sprinkle with the flour and stir well to combine. Add to the slow cooker along with the remaining ingredients. Stir well. Cover and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours. Stir occasionally. After cook time is over put slow cooker on warm setting.

Notes

It is best to grate your own cheese for this dip because store bought is coated in preservatives and anti-caking agents which can result in a grainy dip.
This is a very mild, kid friendly dip. If you would like more spice use chili beans in hot chili sauce, hot salsa and you can even add in some cayenne pepper to heat things up.
