This tasty Sausage and Apple recipe is a quick one-pot meal. This dish is a delicious blend of sweet and savory, absolutely perfect for the upcoming cool fall nights! Serve it as breakfast alongside some eggs, for dinner with rice, or just chow down on this high-protein dish as-is!
2large applescut into 1/4-1/2" slices (I used Fuji)
1medium red onionthinly sliced
1/4cupwater
salt and pepper to taste
1tablespoonbalsamic vinegar
Instructions
In a large skillet cook sausages over medium low heat until browned about 15 minutes. Remove from skillet.
Add in apples, onions and water to skillet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Nestle sausages on top of apples and onions and drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Cover and simmer for 10-12 minutes or until sausages are fully cooked.
Notes
Storage:You can save your sausages in an airtight container stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. However, I would suggest enjoying the apples immediately.
