Fall is just around the corner so I am preparing with all the comfort foods! If you love a Big Mac then you will love this casserole. It has all the flavors made into a tater tot casserole!
My family (and myself!) love easy-to-make dinners such as this one. Another one that will be on repeat this fall is this Impossible Cheeseburger Pie. It’s a super simple casserole filled with ground beef and uses a baking mix to speed things up. Hey, I bet this casserole would be amazing with the Big Mac sauce from this recipe, too!

Ingredient Notes:
BIG MAC SAUCE: Mayo, pickle, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, mustard, minced onion, and sugar all go into the sauce. I tried omitting the sugar but the sauce wasn’t the same without it.
GROUND BEEF: I like to use lean ground beef. Feel free to use what you have just be sure to drain off the excess grease after browning.

How To Make Big Mac Casserole:

STEP 1: Mix together all the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
STEP 2: Brown the ground beef and onion in a large skillet. Add the garlic powder, Worcestershire, and half of the Big Mac Sauce. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and drizzle with remaining Big Mac Sauce.
STEP 3: Arrange tater tots across the top of the casserole. Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

Cooled leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. They can be reheated in the microwave or in a 325-degree oven just until heated through. Make sure there are no toppings when reheating, as they will get soggy.
Make the casserole as directed and top with frozen tater tots. Cover with heavy-duty foil and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator. Remove from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before baking. May need extra baking time.

Big Mac Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients
BIG MAC SAUCE:
- 1 cup (235g) mayonnaise
- ¼ cup (60g) dill pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon each: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika
CASSEROLE:
- 1 pound (500g) lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 ounces (226g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 (2lb)(907g) package tater tots
TOPPINGS:
- shredded lettuce
- onion
- pickles
- tomatoes
- sesame seeds
Instructions
- Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 400℉. Lightly grease a 9×13 casserole dish if not using an oven going skillet such as a 12" cast iron.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion until beef is no longer pink. Drain any grease. Stir in ½ of the reserved Big Mac sauce, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste. If you are not using an oven going skillet, transfer to prepared casserole dish. Top with shredded cheese and then arrange tater tots on top. (May not use the entire package).
- Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve with any of the suggested toppings if desired.

- STORAGE: Store cooled leftovers, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
