Whipped Honey is super easy to make! It’s perfect for drizzling over pancakes, adding to your favorite hot tea, and much more!
Wait! Don’t toss that jar of crystallized honey out! Put it to better use by making this whipped honey. You can make whipped honey with all crystallized honey, liquid honey with some crystallized honey, or all liquid honey. More on this below!
What Is Whipped Honey?
Whipped or “creamed” honey is honey that has been whipped to a creamy, thick, almost marshmallow-like consistency.
By whipping it, air is incorporated, making it lighter and creamy. It will turn pale in color or even white and be opaque.
It also makes it much easier to spread on toast or biscuits than regular honey!
Ingredients:
You will only need one ingredient to make whipped honey, and that is raw honey! However, to make it extra special, I like to add a little salt when whipping. Trust me, it’s worth it!
Raw honey is the best because it crystallizes, unlike the stuff you find in the bear.
I recommend using some crystallized honey to make whipped honey because it will stay thick and fluffy while being stored. If you use all crystallized honey, the creamed honey will be a little bit grittier. You can make whipped honey using all liquid honey, but it will not stay nice and fluffy for as long.
How To Make The Creamiest Whipped Honey:
To make super smooth creamed honey, use 3 tablespoons of crystallized honey to 1 cup of liquid honey. Then add 1/2 teaspoon salt per cup of honey. The salt is optional but adds an extra element that makes it *chefs kiss*!
The only hard part is waiting. It can take a little bit to whip the honey to a nice fluffy texture, anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on how much crystallized honey you are using.
Uses for Creamed Honey:
- Add a spoonful to a cup of your favorite hot tea
- Drizzle over buttered toast
- Drizzle it over Cornbread or these Cornbread Muffins
- Add to your morning oatmeal or yogurt bowl
- Use it on a cheese board
- Make honey butter with it
- Put it in small jars and gift it during the holidays
- Use it instead of syrup with these delicious Pancakes
Flavored Versions:

Whipped Honey
Ingredients
- 1 cup (235mL) raw honey (preferably with some crystallization)
- ½ teaspoon salt, optional
Instructions
- In the bowl of your stand mixer, add your crystallized honey (or combination of seed honey and liquid honey). Add salt if using.
- Using the whisk attachment, whip the honey at medium- high speed for about 15 minutes. Scrape down the sides and rub the creamed honey between your fingers to feel for sugar crystals. If there is still a lot, continue mixing for an additional 10 minutes. (Note: If using all crystallized honey, you may not be able to break down all the crystals. Try thinning it out with extra liquid honey for the smoothest consistency.)

- STORAGE: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.
