This Slow Cooker Creamy Pumpkin Hot Chocolate is rich, decadent and perfect for the holidays!!

This slow cooker creamy pumpkin hot chocolate is AWESOME!!!!  It is so rich and creamy you’ll never want a normal mug of hot chocolate again!!!  It’s made with real pumpkin puree and loads of chocolate.  This will be the perfect drink to curl up with this winter, promise.  Plus, I will give you some options to change up the flavor or make it an adult drink.

If you’re into chocolate as much as I am you definitely need to check out these Homemade Chewy Brownies (which would go great with this pumpkin hot chocolate!), or this Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter No Bake Cheesecake or another tasty pumpkin and chocolate treat is this Turtle Pumpkin Cake.

This Slow Cooker Creamy Pumpkin Hot Chocolate is a great drink to celebrate the holidays! It's rich, creamy and totally comforting!

We liked this topped with both marshmallows and whipped cream.  I also gave it a dusting of cocoa powder to make it a little extra special.  Oooh, you know what would make this even more special???  Set this up in your hot chocolate bar along with this Slow Cooker Triple Hot Chocolate.

Have these two hot chocolates along with several toppings (marshmallows, whipped cream, chopped chocolates, crushed peppermint, chocolate sprinkles, salted caramel sauce) and maybe even some bourbon or Kahlua to make them adult drinks.  This could be an awesome drink station for the holidays!!

A few tips about this Slow Cooker Creamy Pumpkin Hot Chocolate:

  • This needs to be cooked on low only and not much over 2 hours.  Cooking on high or for more than 2 1/2 hours can curdle the dairy.  After it has cooked on low for 2 hours I strongly suggest only keeping it on warm and for no more than 3-4 hours.
  • Feel free to use milk chocolate, semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate.  Just find a good quality chocolate if you can.
  • Also, use either cinnamon or pumpkin spice in this recipe (not both).  I wanted to include both ways just in case someone didn’t want to use pumpkin spice in their hot chocolate.
  • You can make this an adult drink by stirring in 1/2 – 1 oz of Kahlua or 1/4 – 1/2 oz of bourbon in your cup of hot chocolate.
  • I do like to stir this halfway through cooking, it’s not necessary, but I like too.
