Before You Get Started
BREAD: The best garlic bread is made with a nice, crusty loaf of French bread, but that is just my personal opinion. Feel free to use Italian bread or homemade bread. I have even made garlic bread from hamburger buns I needed to use up!
GARLIC: PLEASE don’t use jarred garlic (aka jarlic) because I promise you will wonder why it tastes off. Use fresh garlic, and you can also roast the garlic before mixing into the butter for a different flavor profile.
HERBS: Use whatever fresh herbs you have on hand or leave them out.

How To Make Easy Garlic Bread
This recipe is so simple that I almost feel ashamed for posting it! Still, I wanted to share it in case someone hasn’t discovered how to make delicious garlic bread at home.
STEP 1: Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, combine the softened SALTED butter, parmesan, garlic, and parsley. (This is one of the few times I like to use salted butter….just trust me on this one!)
⇢ GARLIC HACK: I like to use a microplane and grate the garlic instead of chopping. It’s quick and easy.

STEP 2: Spread
Cut the bread in half horizontally with a serrated knife, then spread it evenly with the garlic butter.
⇢ KITCHEN TIP: Instead of cutting the loaf in half horizontally, leave it whole and cut slices without cutting all the way through. Spread garlic butter on one side of each slice, then wrap the loaf in foil and bake it.

STEP 3: Bake
Place the bread on a large baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Slice and enjoy!

Storage
STORAGE: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
REHEAT: Wrap leftovers in foil and bake at 350 degrees until warmed through (about 10 minutes for several pieces, 5 for a couple. You can also warm in an air fryer or toaster oven.
FREEZER-FRIENDLY: After spreading the bread with garlic butter, place on a baking sheet and freeze until firm, OR place a piece of parchment paper on one half, then place the other half on top to make a whole loaf. The parchment paper will keep the butter from freezing together. Then wrap in plastic wrap, then in heavy-duty foil, and freeze for up to 3 months. To bake, simply place on a baking sheet and bake according to recipe directions. May need to add a few extra minutes to the baking time.
