Cheesy Garlic French Bread

Why We Love This Cheesy Garlic French Bread Recipe

You can’t go wrong with garlic, cheese, and bread! This recipe is my favorite way to make a side that’ll go well with just about anything! It takes no time at all to mix up your garlic butter and sprinkle cheese on your French bread before sliding it into the oven!

I used store-bought French bread, but feel free to make your own if you’d like. I prefer using French bread for this recipe because it’s wide and the crust crisps up perfectly in the oven. This recipe leaves you with a crunchy outside and soft and chewy inside!

Try it with my three-cheese pasta bake or spaghetti carbonara. Or, if you are looking for something other than pasta, pair it with pork chops in mushroom gravy or Instant Pot whole chicken soup

FAQs

Is garlic bread French or Italian?

Garlic bread has Italian roots and influences. However, this recipe has become an Italian-American dish.

Do Italians eat garlic bread?

No, Italians enjoy a different kind of garlic bread! In Italy, it’s more common to toast an Italian bread and then rub garlic on the warm slice, usually along with a drizzle of olive oil.

What is the difference between French bread and a baguette?

French bread has a softer crust than a typical baguette, which makes it perfect for this cheesy garlic bread! It’ll get toasty and crusty when baked to complement the soft and gooey inside perfectly.
