Homemade Caesar Dressing

This simple homemade Caesar dressing combines mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, fresh garlic, and anchovy paste, as no Caesar dressing is complete without it! Once you try this recipe, you’ll never want to buy store-bought again!

More great homemade dressings my family loves are buttermilk ranch and creamy poppyseed dressing. I also love using my homemade mayonnaise to make this Caesar dressing.

Before You Get Started

ANCHOVY PASTE: I find this in the grocery store with the canned tuna. I know it sounds off-putting, but trust me, it tastes so much better with it because it adds unsurpassed umami and depth of flavor.

MAYONNAISE: Traditional Caesar dressing is typically made with egg yolk and oil, which can be tricky for some people to mix properly. My solution is to use mayonnaise! It’s basically the same thing, but it eliminates concerns about the dressing splitting or not mixing correctly. You can use store-bought mayonnaise or try making my homemade mayonnaise.

Ingredients: mayonnaise, garlic, parmesan, lemon, dijon, worcestershire, anchovy paste, and white wine vinegar.

How To Make Homemade Caesar Dressing

This dressing is quick to prepare using pantry staples. The only patience needed is for the chill time, which allows the flavors to meld together before serving. You’ll find the full measurements in the recipe card below.

STEP 1: Make the Dressing

Mix all the ingredients together and whisk until well combined. Let it chill for several hours to combine the flavors and create the best tasting dressing.

***PRO TIP: Use an immersion blender to make this the smoothest dressing ever! And if you use an immersion blender, you don’t have to mince the garlic.

Storage

Store dressing in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. I like to use old salad dressing jars or jelly jars to store homemade salad dressings.
