Tips For Making This Garlic Sausage Recipe
- Slice evenly. Cut the smoked sausage into the same size sliced pieces. It will cook more evenly and it’s easier to eat. Plus, the end result looks more appealing.
- Make it hotter. For more spice, add more hot sauce or toss in a few red pepper flakes.
- Fresh ginger is best. To get the most flavor in this sausage appetizer, use fresh ginger. In a pinch, you could use ginger powder as well. Fresh is the best.
In most cases, smoked sausage is fully cooked when you buy it. So, you only need to cook it until it’s browned and has a slight crisp around the edges. This is to lock in the flavor.
If you are making this sausage skillet recipe with uncooked sausage, then you will need to cook it until it reaches 160 degrees.
For parties, you can add the honey garlic sausage to a platter along with other appetizers. Or you can add toothpicks for easy eating. Turn it into a main course by serving with a bed of rice and some roasted veggies.
Place the glazed smoked sausage in a slow cooker. Keep it on the warm setting and it will stay hot. You’ll need to stir it every once in a while.

cooked this dish tonight, served on rice with homemade pizza bread…AWESOME, used a little less ketchup and a little more honey, I’ll be cooking this a lot
I am so glad you made the recipe work for you! Thank you so much for sharing and so glad you liked it!
This is a great recipe! So easy and my family loved it!
Thank you so much!!
My family loves this recipe! Making it tonight. I sometimes add a little green onion if I have any on hand, and I serve it over rice.
Thank you so much and love the idea of adding green onion and serving over rice!!
Honestly, too much ketchup, it just sort of overpowered the flavor in everything. I barely tasted any honey. I would say bring those two more in line (less ketchup or more honey). Otherwise it was okay
at ur advice, prior to mixing everything, I took ur advice and used a little less ketchup and a little more honey, my cousin raises bees so his honey is pure and not refined or stepped on…AWESOME dish with rice and home made pizza bread
How long would these take to cook in a crockpot? TIA!
They should take around 2 hours on LOW.
Loved this recipe! I make it as a snack. Simple, fast and deeeelicious! I’m making it again tomorrow as a main meal.
So glad you liked it!! Thanks for sharing!
Made this for dinner tonight and it was amazing ! The only thing I did differently was to add half a chopped red onion to the sausage as it was cooking just because I had it on hand. I served this with roasted butternut squash. My husband and I were very happy with dinner tonight !
I’m so glad you enjoyed the sausages! Thank you so much for sharing!
