What Goes Into This Strawberry Lemonade Margarita
Strawberries: If using fresh strawberries, first, you will need to make sure the stems are removed. Frozen or thawed strawberries are fine.
Lemonade: I used frozen lemonade for this recipe.
Water: Used as a mixing agent!
Tequila: I like to use Reposado or Gold.
Triple sec: For triple sec, I like to use Cointreau. Any brand will work!
Lime: Fresh limes are the garnishments, plus you’ll need the juice. What’s a margarita without citrus?
Salt: Coarse salt is for the rims of the glasses.
How to Make This Recipe
BLEND THE INGREDIENTS: First, add the strawberries, lemonade, and water to a large blender and blend.
POUR: Next, pour the blended mixture into a large picture.
ADD THE ALCOHOL: Next, stir in the tequila and triple sec. Add the lime juice.
GARNISH & SERVE: Moisten the rim of the glasses and dip into the salt. Fill glasses with ice and pour the margarita into them.
FAQS
If you want to make this drink nonalcoholic, then I’ve got you covered! Simply replace the tequila and triple sec with 12 ounces of Canada Dry or club soda (depending on how sweet you want it to be) and 1/3 cup of fresh orange juice.
Since this tequila is being mixed with sweet ingredients in this recipe, the tequila does not have to be top-shelf. A nice middle ground tequila that is both balanced and neutral, but not too cheap, is great for this drink.
Triple sec is an orange liqueur which is a sweetened alcohol with orange flavoring. If you don’t have triple sec, thn you can use either orange extract or oil.
Tips
- Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Serve this alongside my spicy chicken tacos, steak tacos, or fresh peach salsa!
- Freeze any leftovers into margarita popsicles. First, you’ll need popsicle molds and sticks.

I can’t find frozen lemonade anywhere I’ll have to use regular & hope for the best
I am sorry you aren’t able to find frozen lemonade! Crazy times!
Excellent! I used frozen strawberries. Think the juice made it better. Only 1 cup tequila and 1/2 of triple sec. Figured a person can always add more
I am so glad you adjusted to suit your tastes! And so glad you liked it!
I absolutely love this! Question: can this keep until the next day or two? I would love to make this for myself but it is too much. Wish I didn’t have to wait until a party LOL
Thank you! Yes, you can store this for a few days in the refrigerator. Just leave out the fruit and add it to your drink before serving. I found storing it too long with the citrus changed the flavor too much.
