Pizza Pasta Casserole Ingredients
- ITALIAN SAUSAGE – Remove the casings. You can use any variety of Italian sausage you like.
- ONION – Chop up a small white or yellow onion for a touch of sweetness. You can also use a red onion for a deeper flavor.
- GARLIC – We found the perfect garlic flavor to be about 2 cloves, but you can add more if desired.
- SPAGHETTI SAUCE – Use your favorite jarred or homemade spaghetti sauce.
- TOMATOES – Diced or petite diced tomatoes are fantastic and give the pasta pizza plenty of zesty flavors.
- SEASONINGS – You’ll need some dried oregano and dried basil. You can use fresh too, but we tend always to have dried on hand.
- PASTA – We prefer penne, but you can also use macaroni, rigatoni, or ziti instead.
- PEPPERONI – Grab your favorite brand of pepperoni. It’s so good! And if you aren’t a fan of pepperoni, you can leave it out completely.
- CHEESE – To get the perfect cheesy flavor, use a combination of mozzarella and parmesan.
How To Make Pasta Pizza
BROWN SAUSAGE: Cook the sausage, onions, and garlic in a large skillet. Drain well.
ADD SAUCE: Pour in the spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, water, oregano, and basil. Stir well, then pour in the pasta. Stir. Add a lid and cook for 10-15 minutes at a simmer until the pasta is tender.

Malinda, ive never really cooked a one pot pasta pizza. Is this an American style of cooking? The only time i ate macaroni cheese was last year in NYC at the wholefoods market..takeaway salad counter. your dish really looks meaty and full of sticky goodness — I might try my owner version lol — just boil macaroni…loads of cheese…and buy pepperoni and some paprika and olive oil!
This pizza pasta looks so yummy & tempting. I am having a weekend get-together at my place & i am surely going to try this for my friends. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Let me know how you like it!
I love that you don’t have to boil the pasta separately! And there is also never a shortage of dirty dishes at my house!
Lol, there is never a shortage here either!! 🙂
I’ll take pizza anyway I can get it. Can’t wait to try it in pizza form!
We are the same way!! 🙂
Looks Yummy
Thank you!
Love the tip to sneak in zuchinii! Tryting this!
It’s a great way to hide veggies when your husband won’t eat any, lol!!
This is one delicious dinner that would please both adults and kids!
Yes it does! Thanks!
Just curious what size skillet you used for this? I have a 10.25 inch Lodge and was thinking I might need to halve the recipe to make sure it fits in the skillet I have. Making this tonight for dinner and looking forward to it.
Hi, so sorry I didn’t get to your comment sooner!! I used a 12″ skillet. I hope you enjoyed the pizza pasta!!
Great recipe but PLEASE check your spelling twice when the proper use should have been, “you’re.”
Thank you so much for catching my mistake! Sometimes staying up late just doesn’t work! 🙂
Get a life, great recipe Melinda! My kids loved it, easy to follow no matter what the spelling.
Looks incredible! I love any spin on pizza.
Thank you so much Lynn!! Thanks for stopping by!!
