A delicious and simple Slow Cooker Apple Cider recipe for you using store bought apple cider, orange rind, cinnamon, clove and allspice. Basically it’s Christmas in a cup!
Do you like apple cider?? I do!! It is one of my favorite drinks and I am not sure why I don’t make it more often.
As a kid I remember going to my aunt’s for Thanksgiving and she always had some hot apple cider. I always, always, had to have some first thing. The problem was I was never patient enough to let it cool and would burn my mouth. Like burn it so bad I couldn’t taste my food for the next several days. I would tell myself every year I am going to pour a cup and let it cool. Like 30 seconds would go by and in my youth that was long enough. Well, obviously that wasn’t long enough!! Oh, well it was so worth it and something I looked forward to every year.
Just so you know not much has changed.
I still burn my mouth. I just can’t wait to sip on that warming cup of goodness.
- 6 cups apple cider
- 1/4-1/3 cup maple syrup
- Peeling from 1/2 of a large orange
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 whole cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
